ABM Industries Parking Office Assistant in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Overview

Position Summary:

The Parking Office Assistant contributes to the department’s overall success by providing essential administrative support to the department to ensure smooth daily operations. This position is responsible for the daily clerical support and customer communications within the Parking office. They will be responsible for handling the administrative tasks and supporting customers. Manage and coordinate all activities related with the office operation and provide services to internal team members and visitors.

Essential Functions:

Customer Service

  • Provide information and assistance to customers regarding parking policies, fees, and locations.

  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues related to parking services.

  • Process and distribute parking permits to visitors.

  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries about parking services.

Administrative

  • Maintain accurate records of parking permits issued, payments received, and violations recorded.

  • Input and update information in the parking management system.

  • Generate reports on parking usage, revenues, and other relevant data.

  • Track and manage the inventory of parking permits, validation stickers, and other material.

  • Collect payments for parking fees, fines, and permits, and issue receipts. Bank drops may be required.

  • Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.

Additional Duties

  • May oversee the operation of parking areas, ensuring that they are properly maintained and any issues are addressed promptly.

  • Communicate with other departments to coordinate events, special parking arrangements, and other needs.

  • Inform customers and internal staff of any changes in parking policies, rates, or procedures.

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

  • Ensure that office equipment, such as computers, printers, and phones are in working order and arrange for repairs as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 Year Office Professional and Customer Service Experience

  • Must have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Proficient experience in computer knowledge and Microsoft Office Suites - specifically Outlook, Excel and Word

A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
