Overview
We are looking for a qualified HVAC Service Manager who is goal oriented, self-motivated and has demonstrated leadership skills. As the Service manager, you will manage skilled trade personnel (HVAC Technicians) who manage the maintenance, repair, retrofit, or replacement of our customer's mechanical systems and equipment.
Essential Functions
Manages and develops the Service staff, which includes hiring, terminating and disciplining of employees, scheduling employees, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, counselling employees, evaluating performance and directing work assignments to ensure effective production.
Evaluates workload and schedules service work in a way that best utilizes manpower and maximizes profits.
Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ensures that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed for scheduled jobs.
Schedules repairs for parts to ensure minimal downtime in job completion.
Generates reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory, tools and vehicles.
Reviews reports with management.
Instructs crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
Reviews payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly.
Prepares and presents quotes for add-on/replacement of equipment, preventive services and/or remediation, on request.
Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
Scope Factors (i.e. Revenue Scope, Assets Scope, Budget Scope, Profit/Loss Scope, Supervisory Scope)

Has 10+ direct reports (technical service staff – HVAC technicians)
Responsible for customer base up to 150 mile radius from branch office
Qualifications – Education & Experience
High School Diploma / GED required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
8+ years’ experience in HVAC service operations required
Proven success managing skilled trade personnel such as HVAC Technicians
Education and/or training in any or all of the following: electronic/mechanical systems, HVAC, chillers, boilers, building controls systems
Additional certifications are strongly preferred: EPA Certification, OSHA certified, Master HVAC License, and other technical trainings
Previous experience as a commercial HVAC service technician preferred.
Driver's License and ability to commute locally in the market to customer sites as needed
